Huntsmore’s bespoke joinery offering developed naturally from our architectural and interior design work, recognising the importance of beautifully executed fitted furniture within the renovation of London’s period homes.
From a finely detailed study to cabinetry integrated into the architecture of an entire property, each commission is developed around the proportions, character and practical requirements of the space. Made without reliance on standard dimensions or templates, our joinery brings together individual design, skilled craftsmanship and carefully selected materials.
Designed for the architecture
Our approach begins with an understanding of how a room is intended to be used and how its joinery should relate to the surrounding architecture.
In period and listed properties, this often means responding to irregular dimensions, original architectural features and the particular character of the building. Traditional forms can be interpreted with contemporary detailing, while the proportions, finishes and ironmongery are developed to sit naturally within their setting.
Working closely with homeowners, our design team develops proposals from initial sketches through to detailed drawings, with materials, finishes and functional arrangements coordinated with the wider interior scheme.
Our West London workshop
Our West London workshop brings together traditional craftsmanship and contemporary manufacturing techniques to produce individually designed cabinetry and architectural joinery.
Every commission is made to suit its intended setting, with close attention to construction, material selection and finishing. Samples of timber, finishes, colours and ironmongery can be reviewed during the design process, allowing details to be refined and agreed before manufacture begins.
Producing joinery in London allows close coordination with our design team and the residential projects we undertake across the capital. This proximity also helps reduce unnecessary transportation and supports local production of furniture designed for long-term use.
Integrated into the wider project
Joinery is developed alongside Huntsmore’s architectural and project management services, allowing its design, manufacture and installation to be coordinated with the wider building programme.
Once the design has been approved, detailed workshop drawings are prepared in response to the architectural proposals, site dimensions and construction requirements.
This close relationship between design, manufacture and installation allows joinery to become an integral part of the finished interior, with technical details resolved as the works progress and the original design intent carried through to completion.
