Huntsmore is a Kensington-based architectural and design practice specialising in the renovation, restoration and reconfiguration of houses and apartments across West and Central London.

Our work begins with an understanding of the building and the ambitions of those who live within it. Whether rethinking the arrangement of a Victorian townhouse or adapting a listed apartment for contemporary living, we seek architectural solutions that respect the property’s character while allowing it to evolve.

Exploring the potential

We are typically appointed at the earliest stages of a project, helping homeowners establish what is possible before committing to a particular design.

Through concept design and feasibility studies, we explore spatial arrangements, circulation, natural light and the relationship between rooms. Ideas are considered alongside planning requirements, structural implications and the practicalities of construction, allowing the architectural brief to develop with a clear understanding of both opportunity and constraint.

Our work encompasses comprehensive house and apartment renovations, internal reconfiguration, extensions and structural alterations, from initial concepts through to detailed architectural and technical design.

Architecture within historic buildings

Period and listed properties demand an approach informed by their individual architectural character.

We work with the existing fabric, retaining significant historic features while introducing contemporary interventions where appropriate. Rather than following a prescribed aesthetic, each proposal is developed in response to the building, its setting and the requirements of the homeowner.

Our architectural services include planning applications, Listed Building Consent, Licences to Alter and Building Regulations coordination. For properties within conservation areas or subject to more complex statutory requirements, these considerations are addressed from the outset and inform the direction of the design.

Design with delivery in mind

At Huntsmore, architectural design is supported by in-house project management from the pre-construction stage.

This allows consultant coordination, technical development, tendering, programme and cost considerations to be integrated into the design process, rather than addressed only once architectural proposals are complete.

Our in-house architectural, interior design and project management teams work collaboratively, bringing continuity to decisions from the initial concept through to construction.
