Bayswater, W2
Huntsmore renovated a two-bedroom apartment within an Edwardian mansion block in Maida Vale, set on a quiet, tree-lined street. The property had not been touched in over 50 years and required a complete refurbishment. Huntsmore secured a licence to alter, enabling works to commence on site and ensuring the scheme could be delivered sensitively within the building’s framework.
A new DeVol kitchen was introduced at the heart of the design, its classic cabinetry and refined finishes creating a timeless focal point for daily living and entertaining. The smaller rear bedroom, overlooking the communal gardens, was transformed into a richly detailed dark study, layered with deep-toned finishes to create a calm and atmospheric retreat. In the master bedroom, bespoke joinery was designed and manufactured in our London workshop, providing much-needed storage while remaining in keeping with the apartment’s period features.
With the original floors beyond repair, all joists well levelled and new flooring laid throughout, establishing a consistent foundation and bringing warmth to the interiors. The result is a carefully considered home that balances the elegance of its Edwardian setting with design-led contemporary living.
