ABOUT PROJECT

Huntsmore transformed a three-bedroom apartment in a listed historic building at Whitehall Court, in the heart of London, offering spectacular views of Horse Guards from the living room. Built in the 1880s, the property is categorised as a High-Risk Building under the Building Safety Act 2022, requiring careful navigation of complex regulatory requirements. Working within its listed status, the project involved securing listed building consent and a licence to alter, ensuring all interventions respected the building’s historic fabric while meeting modern safety and design standards.

Tasked with reconfiguring the kitchens and bathrooms and upgrading the apartment throughout, we delivered a fully bespoke solution. A striking green terrazzo entrance hall was designed to mirror the patterns of the Victorian communal areas, creating a sense of continuity with the building’s historic character. The kitchen was carefully reconfigured and crafted in our London workshop, combining practicality with refined detailing. Bathrooms were upgraded throughout with Samuel Heath brassware, while smoked oak plank flooring runs across the apartment, with a chevron pattern in the circular dining area drawing the eye to the centre.

With bespoke joinery, refined materials, and carefully considered layouts, the apartment now balances period grandeur with contemporary living tailored to the client.
