Huntsmore completed the full refurbishment of a large three-bedroom maisonette set across two floors in the centre of Notting Hill. Forming part of a substantial Victorian building, the property was badly configured and did not make the most of its generous proportions. The client, a family seeking a practical yet elegant London base, wanted a home that reflected their lifestyle while respecting the building’s character.

A major intervention was the relocation of the kitchen into the bay window, creating a light-filled focal point and anchoring the flow of the living spaces. A new staircase was designed with contemporary detailing, yet subtly referenced the property’s Victorian heritage, striking a balance between old and new. At the entrance, a bespoke mosaic floor provided a distinctive sense of arrival, while the shower room was finished with polished tadelakt plaster walls and a handcrafted terrazzo floor, lending both texture and individuality.

Throughout the maisonette, herringbone flooring and double-glazed timber sash windows enhanced continuity and comfort. Bespoke joinery, designed by Huntsmore and manufactured in our workshop, ensured every detail was tailored to the family’s needs, bringing together practicality and design precision.
The result is a reconfigured home that elevates everyday family living through considered design, materiality, and craftsmanship.
