Full reconfiguration and renovation
The property had not been renovated in the last few decades and was in need of some attention. The property was on the fourth floor of an imposing mansion block and access was an issue as the building was governed by strict management company rules. Huntsmore organised an abseil team to remove the netting on the rear skylight, then built a rear scaffold, using a pulley system to take goods in and out of the property as we could not use the building’s lifts.
The property was fully reconfigured to allow the apartment to work around the clients’ lives. The reconfiguration involved substantial steel and structural work, all of which was overseen by Huntsmore.
It was Huntsmore’s responsibility to collaborate with the various different suppliers throughout the entire build, including appointing a chimney engineer to reline all three chimney flues so that we could install the Chesney wood-burning stoves. The kitchen was fitted by an external supplier, the co-ordination of which was all handled by us.
Huntsmore ran all the design detailing, from the bespoke wardrobe and cabinetry, to the angled chessboard hallway floor. All of these the tiles were individually cut to size at the factory to give a tailored finish to the hallway. The bathrooms too were redesigned and reconfigured, with distinct styles in each – one traditional and the other more contemporary.
Huntsmore ran the full end-to-end process, also liaising with and dealing with Building Control and the Freeholder’s management company.
