Victorian conversion maisonette.
Complete reconfiguration and renovation.
The property was a badly configured two-bedroom maisonette split across the ground and lower ground. The apartment was cramped and was lacking in space and light.
The kitchen was relocated to the lower ground (previously the spare bedroom). Extensive structural work was carried out to open up the space and to allow more light into the property. The master bedroom’s en suite was relocated to the vault under the entry steps creating a larger living space.
The living room remained, with restoration of period features such as plaster coving and an overhaul of the timber sash windows. The defunct gas fire was removed and a limestone surround installed. Traditional cast iron radiators were fitted.
The property underwent a full rewire, new central heating and decoration throughout. Huntsmore handled the Building Control process, appointed the structural engineer and dealt with the License to Alter process with the Freeholder.
