Run-down studio in an Art Deco mansion block.
Converted into one bedroom apartment. Full renovation.
On day one we brought in an interior architect to create the best layout as light and clever storage were integral parts of the design phase given the property size.
A stud partition with a frosted glass pocket door was installed to split the studio area into living and sleeping quarters. Space saving built in wardrobes were incorporated into the bedroom.
The kitchen and bathroom were gutted and fully reconfigured to offer more function. Art Deco features (doors, coving, lighting) were reinstated throughout in keeping with the fabric of the overall block.
The building was run by a management company with stringent rules on renovation works. Prior to any constriction work, Huntsmore ran the entire License to Alter process. During the build, Huntsmore organised daily meetings with the building’s porter and weekly meetings with a member of the management company to ensure the project stayed on target.
