Huntsmore project managed the full renovation of this mews house in Notting Hill, W11.
The layout overall was to stay the same but the main challenge was to create an open plan living area on the top floor but to also ensured it complied with current fire safety regulations.
The existing top floor had the roof being supported by three masonry walls that divided the existing kitchen and living areas in two. The space felt disjointed and quite cramped. The clients wanted to open the space up but we needed a fire protection barrier between the kitchen on the top floor and the bedrooms on the floors below. After a few development concepts, the client decided upon this impressive fire-retardant Crittall glazed partition. This allows the light to flow across the entire top floor, taking advantage of the existing skylights.
Huntsmore designed a classic shaker style kitchen from deVOL and laid a reclaimed oak board floor supplied by Havwoods.
The renovation continued through to the floors below with the bedrooms showcasing vibrant feature walls and an impressive and statement stair-runner by Roger Oates running from top to bottom of the property.
